What is Avalanche(AVAX)?
Launched in 2020, Avalanche(AVAX), in a very short time managed to cross the $100 mark. It is one of the rivals of Ethereum aiming to replace it for smart contracts. It is a Layer one blockchain that also acts as a platform for custom blockchain networks and DApps. The platform aims to unseat Ethereum with higher transaction outputs of about 6.5k transactions per second. Avalanche(AVAX)’s architecture is unique as its main net consists of three individual blockchains each with a different purpose and functionality. The three blockchains in its network are X-Chain, C-Chain and P-Chain.
The X Chain is also known as the Exchange chain which is used in the creation and Exchange of AVAX tokens and also other digital assets. The C Chain, otherwise known as the contract Chain is where the developers create smart contracts for Decentralised Applications. The P Chain, also known as the platform chain is involved in the tracking of active subnets, coordinating network validators and allowing the creation of new subnets.
