What is Zilliqa(ZIL)?
Zilliqa(ZIL) is a public and permissionless blockchain, designed to increase the transaction rates on the blockchain to thousands of transactions each second. It uses a unique approach wherein it employs Sharding as a layer-2 scaling solution. The team claims that Zilliqa(ZIL) is the “world’s first public blockchain that relies entirely on a Sharded network”.
Blockchain networks use a data splitting method called Sharding to attain scalability. Using this the transaction processing capacity of the blockchains can be improved. And Zilliqa(ZIL) is the first of the blockchains to enable this method(Sharding) on the mainnet. Through this, Zilliqa became able to attain faster transaction rates and low fees on its network.
